“So with side wins?”
“Which side wins?”
He smiles at me, the crinkled eyes, the crooked teeth.
“Love wins. Love always wins.”
i havent posted in a long time on tumblr. i never really felt the need to post a blog. not that nothing interesting has been happening in my life, but i just didnt have the energy, or want to post anything.
I wonder to myself, what is love?
And, how do you distinguish love from fondness, like, and lust?
I think to myself that love is something that we as humans can never understand completely, we just live life, and hopefully love, and learn more about love as life goes on.
I think about Christianity. I think about how it is based upon love. I think about how i think the word love is no longer what it should be. The perspective of love to me is wrong. Especially with Christians.
You would think that Christians would have love in the right perspective because they have this God of love, and their religion is essentially based on love. You would think that they would atleast know how, and what is love.
But i dont think they know. I feel like love has been watered down in a sense. Sort of like the church.
I think about one of the chapters in the bible about love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-6 & 13
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
So i look at verses 4-6 to answer what is love. From these verses, it sounds like the essence of love is that it is humble. It is forgiving, and honest. From verse seven, LOve protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres.
I think about modern day. I think, how can you love in the modern day world. How can you love the general population of people. If you are humble to the general population of people, then you are going to get used and trampled on because our society of today is teaching us to get to the top. To do pretty much anything to get fame, wealth, glory, and power.
I wonder, how can you love in our world?
Next, it says love is forgiving. I think, what is forgiveness. I think about how everybody wants revenge, everybody is a jerk. I think, where is the forgiveness. Where is it in my life. Where is it in the world? i dont know.
Love is honest. I dont know how you can say that you can love and be honest in a world that is full of lies. I know that i can end up lieing without even knowing it sometimes. And i try not to lie. How do you love in a world that shuns honesty because it will only get you shot down and made fun of?
Love protects. How do you protect that which doesnt want to be protected?
Love trusts. How do you love in a whole world full of lies?
Love hopes. How do you hope in a hopeless world full of evil?
Love perseveres. I think to myself, love perseveres wraps everything up. As i was listening to lecrae (a christian rapper) he said a line that i remember quite clearly.
you were stabbed you were murdered and for me is why you bled
but I spit on your bloody face as If I never cared
And Lord how dare I compare my pain
your father turned his back and you were left to hang
I don’t know why you did it that I cant explain
how can you love this sinner whose desecrated your name
Lord I deserve the flames

The point is that we love God because he loved us first. God hopes for us. God persevered for us even though we spit in his face everytime we sin. He protects us. He loves us completely and perfectly, and that is why we are able to love. We must be followers of Jesus. I think that being a follwer of Jesus isnt completely understood. Jesus went to the cross. If we are followers of Jesus, we must go to our own cross, and carry it unashamed. you arent a follower of Jesus unless you follow him and suffer for him and carry your own personal cross that you have. I dont know what is happening to the word love, but i hope that one day it become real love. I wonder how it is possible to love something so unloveable like the people in this world, but i guess God loves us and that is pretty insane because we are pretty unloveable. We sin against him in his face and he still loves us. I guess that means that we need to love like him and love the people of this world…
So now i think, what is love. I bet a lot of people have stopped reading by now because its a long post, but i dont really care. Anyways, i think, is love all happy? I once talked to somebody who described a type of love that was happy happy clappy clappy. I thought it was hilarious, and i thought that it was an accurate description of what love has become to a lot of people. I feel like love has become being happy, and in a sense, ignorant happy. I believe that love is the only way to true happiness, but i dont believe love makes you happy all the time. I think about the Church, and i wonder, how has it gone so wrong, where there really is no love because in love there is honestly. In honesty, there is confrontation on problems. i dont really see that among the church as a whole, and i believe that if the church is suppose to represent God, it should represent love, which should show that they deal with problems instead of turning away.
I dont know what is happening, but i hope it changes.
